PABA (para-amino benzoic acid) is a water-soluble non-protein amino acid, originally called vitamin B10 even though it is not a vitamin, due to its importance in the synthesis of folic acid (vitamin B9).

PABA in nature is found combined with folic acid, and is involved in the assimilation of pantothenic acid, which makes the action more effective.

Traditionally used for the health of the skin and skin appendages, the deficiency of this pseudo-vitamin is associated with premature graying of the hair.

PABA is widely used in cosmetics for its activity, demonstrated by several studies, of prevention and reduction of wrinkles, which favors the maintenance of health and smoothness of the skin.
