Pcl Covid19 Ag Gold - Saliva Test
It is an in vitro diagnostic medical device based on the rapid immunochromatographic test (ICA) for the qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens in human saliva and nasopharyngeal swab samples. Note that the test is intended for use in clinical laboratories or by healthcare professionals on saliva samples and nasopharyngeal swabs collected at the treatment centers (POCT). The COVID19 antibody of this product is immobilized on the test strip of the nitrocellulose membrane. If a SARS-CoV-2 antigen is present in the sample taken, it will react with the immunoconjugate (COVID19 gold colloidal conjugate antibody) to form a complex. By capillary action, the mixture will rise through the membrane to interact with the COVID19 antibody of which the detection band is coated. The body's antigen-antigen immune responses give rise to double complexes which in the test window will manifest themselves in the form of a colored band. If the sample does not contain SARS-CoV-2 antigen, there will be no double complex formation and therefore no colored band will appear in the test window. Regardless of whether or not a SARS-CoV-2 antigen is present in the sample, a colored band will always appear in the control section of the window.
How to use
Sample collection
The patient collects saliva from the tip of the tongue for 30 seconds (does not include spit, etc.).
For immediate use, the collected saliva is poured directly into the extraction tube.
Alternatively, after collecting the saliva in the patient's mouth for 30 seconds, use a sterile swab to collect the saliva, deposit it in the extraction tube and store it at a temperature between 2 ° C and 8 ° C for no more than 72 hours or at -70 ° C for longer periods. Storage for extended periods can result in weakening of the signal.
Do not refreeze the sample after thawing it. Repeated freezing and thawing cycles can cause signal weakening.
Test procedure
Open the protective pouch and place the cassette on a flat surface. (Open the cassette pouch only shortly before use. The cassette may give inaccurate results if left unused after opening.)
After loading the sample, pour 2-3 drops (110 mcl) of sample from the extraction tube into the well of the device.
Wait 10 minutes before reading the result, but do not exceed 20 minutes after applying the diluted sample.
Collect the liquid saliva directly into the tube.
Close the tube with the dropper cap.
Pour 2 or 3 drops (110 mcl) of solution into the well of the device.
Nasopharyngeal swabs have been validated for use with the COVID19Ag Rapid Gold PCL assay.
Insert the collection swab through the nostril / mouth and gently push it to the bottom of the oropharynx / nasopharynx.
Rotate the swab three times avoiding contact with the tongue, then remove it.
Insert the swab directly into the extraction tube if you are going to use it immediately.
If not, place it in a closed container containing 1 ml or less of transport medium and store at 2-8 ° C for no more than 72 hours or at -70 ° C for a longer period. Prolonged storage can cause weakening of the signal.
Do not refreeze the sample after thawing it. Repeated freezing and thawing cycles can cause signal weakening.
