Peptamen® Af Neutro Nestlé Health Science - Food For Special Medical Purposes

Peptamen® AF is an easily absorbable and digestible high-calorie and high-protein food for special medical purposes, based on hydrolyzed whey proteins and added in omega 3, to modulate the inflammatory response. Designated for better tolerance of early enteral nutrition of hypercatabolic adult or requiring restriction of fluid intake.

Peptamen® AF contains

Hydrolyzed whey proteins with small peptides, with high gastrointestinal tolerability and enhancement of the body's antioxidant defenses. The high protein concentration is in line with the most recent scientific recommendations on the nutrition of critically ill patients in intensive care, and is intended to counteract protein catabolism and lean mass depletion in critically ill patients.

Advanced lipid blend containing fish oil and omega 3 to promote the modulation of inflammatory processes. The presence of 50% of the lipid source as MCT promotes the digestibility of the nutritional blend.

Peptamen® AF is specifically indicated for enteral nutrition of critically ill patients, in particular

• ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome)
• ALI (Acute lung injury)
• Patients undergoing SIRS (Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome)
• Hemodynamically stable septic patients
• Burned.

Peptamen® AF can be used as the sole source of nutrition.

Doses and preparation

As the only source of nourishment: 1,500 ml (2,250 Kcal). As a supplement to the diet: 500 ml or more, according to medical prescription. Usage note: shake well before use.

Peptamen® AF is packaged in sterile 500ml SmartFlex ™ bottles with ENPlus attachment. Peptamen® AF in the unopened package can be stored at room temperature in a dry place away from heat sources. The opened bottle, connected to the universal adapter, must be used within 24 hours. The opened bottle must be closed again, stored in the refrigerator and used within 24 hours.
