Food supplement composed of SERENOA and PYGEUM Africanum suitable for promoting prostate functionality and can be considered as a natural aid in Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy, in prostatic inflammation and for the well-being of the prostate gland.
PGprost ® contains SERENOA (present here as the best extract available today; Sabalselect; 160 mg / cps) and PYGEUM Africanum (35 mg / cps), the two plants historically best known in the treatment with natural products of BPH (and inflammation prostatic). They have an anti-androgenic action, reducing intra-prostatic Testosterone (Dihydrotestosterone) and thus inhibiting the growth of BPH; anti-inflammatory action (cyclo-oxygenase and lipo-oxygenase inhibition) reducing the inflammation that often accompanies BPH; anti-estrogenic action (estrogens have an adjuvant action in the induction of BPH); anti-proliferative action on BPH. Furthermore, SERENOA has anti-adrenergic, anti-cholinergic, calcium-antagonist and blocking action on vanilloid receptors. These natural products have no adverse effects on sex function, on the contrary they seem to have a general toning action.

How to use: 2 capsules / day (1 capsules / 12 hours) and then, in favorable responses, 1 capsule / day for variable periods of time (as maintenance).

Over the years, the prostate can undergo an enlargement of varying degrees (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy - BPH), causing a constriction of the urethra and structural alterations of the lower urinary tract (bladder from exertion). This fact causes both obstructive symptoms (slow flow, repeatedly, sometimes with incomplete bladder emptying) and irritative (increased frequency of urination, nocturnal urination, urgency). Sometimes there are inflammatory signs (burning, pain) and post-voiding dripping. These disorders generally have an evolutionary tendency. Alongside real drugs, there is a whole series of natural products, which are able to significantly attenuate the symptoms due to BPH (without having the side effects of drugs). Prostatitis, on the other hand, is an inflammatory disease of the prostate and can be caused by bacteria or it can be abacterial. Inflammation and BPH can be associated. Inflammation can promote the progression of BPH. Prostatitis presents with variable urinary symptoms, in part similar to those of BPH, but is mainly characterized by perineal pain and burning. Oxidative stress, which occurs when there is an excess production of oxygen free radicals (ROS), also causes clear tissue damage and various studies show that in prostatitis there is an increase in oxidative stress.
