Trimelvit

Dietary supplement

Trimelvit is a food supplement based on melatonin, vitamin D3, vitamin B6 and tryptophan. Melatonin contributes to the reduction of the time required to fall asleep (with the intake of 1 mg of melatonin just before bedtime) and to alleviate the effects of jet lag (with the intake, shortly before bedtime, of a minimum 0.5 mg of melatonin on the first day of travel and for a few days after arrival); vitamin B6 contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and to normal psychological function; Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption / utilization of calcium and phosphorus and to the normal function of the immune system.

We are well aware of the importance of sleep, a necessary and indispensable function for all living beings and in particular for man, on physical and mental health. All research, even the most recent, confirms that each individual, depending on age, needs many hours of rest and sleep, especially during the night (1).

Based on the latest data in the literature, Trimelvit tackles the problem of sleep disorders by associating Vitamin D3, tryptophan and Vitamin B6 with melatonin.

MELATONIN: is a neuro-hormone produced by a gland located at the base of the brain called the pineal gland or epiphysis and is considered the hormone responsible for the sleep-wake rhythm. The synthesis and release of melatonin are stimulated by the dark and inhibited by light: for this reason the secretion of the hormone, in normal conditions, progressively increases in the evening, reaches its peak during the night (between 2 and 4 am), it drops to a minimum in the morning and remains very low during the day. Melatonin contributes to the reduction of the time required to fall asleep and consequently its deficiency can cause difficulties in falling asleep and the presence of numerous nocturnal awakenings (2, 3). Melatonin has also been shown to be effective in postmenopausal women with psychosomatic disorders (4) and as a premedication before surgery under general anesthesia (5).
VITAMIN D3: A series of studies has recently shown a close correlation between reduced levels of vitamin D in the blood and insomnia. The studies concern subjects of all age groups (6). A very recent study has also shown that in children with autism (a condition which is very frequently associated with the problem of insomnia) the integration of vitamin D significantly reduces the problems of insomnia (7).
TRYPTOPHANE: is an essential amino acid so called because the human body is unable to synthesize it; it is a precursor of serotonin, and therefore of melatonin.
VITAMIN B6: contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and to normal psychological function and acts as a coenzyme in the synthesis of serotonin and therefore also of melatonin.
