PreOp Nutricia Diet Food For Special Medical Purposes

Nutritional supplement based on carbohydrates, without residue , lemon flavored, free of proteins, lipids and dietary fibers. PreOp is gluten-free.

Indications

Patients on pre-operative fasting, awaiting elective surgery. It can be taken up to 2 hours before surgery.

Contraindications and precautions

It cannot be used in emergency surgery or in patients with slowed gastric emptying.
Not to be used for parenteral nutrition.
Not suitable for infants.
Use with caution in children and patients with diabetes mellitus.

Dosage

Initial dose : 4 x 200 ml in the evening before surgery.
Final dose : 2 x 200 ml up to two hours before pre-anesthesia.
