PRISMA Skin is a sterile medical device for topical use consisting of a water-soluble matrix, mainly composed of sodium alginate and hyaluronic acid, and damesoglycan.
The matrix, made up of a solid film of reduced thickness, is supported by a sheet of inert material which is removed when it is applied to the lesion to be treated.
PRISMA Skin, supplied in 8 x 12 cm sheets, is contained in a sealed aluminum sachet.
Each pack contains 5 sterile pouches.
In contact with the lesion to be treated, PRISMA Skin absorbs water from the exudate forming a gel that acts as a barrier against bacteria, exerts a buffering effect on the pH of the lesion, maintains a moist microenvironment and promotes effective wound marginalization.

Composition
Matrix: Sodium Alginate, Sodium Laluronate, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Vegetable Proteins, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Polysorbate, Polyvinylpyrrolidone, Mesoglycan.
Support: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET).

Indications
PRISMA Skin is indicated for the dressing of secondary skin lesions spontaneous apathologies (example: ulcers of the lower limbs in subjects with chronic venous insufficiency, ischemic ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers) or due to environmental or traumatic causes (example: pressure sores, excoriation lesions , burns).
PRISMA Skin is indicated for the dressing of cleansed lesions with moderate to low exudate or lesions in the granulation phase.
Any necrotic tissue must be removed before treatment using the most correct methods according to the specific type of wound.

How to use
Wound Preparation: Cleanse the wound with saline.
PRISMA Skin can be applied under the dressings usually used including the elastic-compression bandages used for venous insufficiency ulcers.
Application: after thorough cleansing of the hands, open the sealed aluminum bag and apply directly.
PRISMA Skin on the entire surface of the lesion after removing the sheet made of inert material that supports the matrix.
If the lesion is small it is possible to cut PRISMA Skin, using scissors previously cleaned with a common disinfectant solution, to better adapt it to its surface, if it is larger it is recommended to use more than one sheet in order to completely cover the lesion.
PRISMA Skin in contact with the wound forms a water-soluble gel that covers the lesion.
Any residues are removed with normal cleansing carried out before the next dressing.
Replacement frequency: PRISMA Skin is applied at each medication renewal.
The use of PRISMA Skin does not change the frequency of renewal of dressings foreseen in the clinical protocols used for each specific type of lesion.

Warnings and incompatibilities
• The product is for external use.
• Once the bag has been opened, the product must be used in the shortest time.
• Once the product has been extracted from the aluminum bag, it must be positioned directly on the lesion.
• Do not reuse the cut out parts.
• Use disinfected scissors to cut PRISMA Skin.
• Do not use in case of hypersensitivity or individual allergy to one or more components of the product.
• PRISMA Skin does not possess bactericidal activity and should not be used on colonized or infected lesions.
• Prolonged use of topical products can give rise to sensitization phenomena; should these phenomena occur, it is advisable to suspend the treatment and consult the doctor.
• In pregnancy and in children under three years of age, the product can be used after consulting a doctor.
• Keep the product out of the reach of children.
• Do not use the device beyond the expiration date.
• Do not use in case of damaged packaging.

Expiry and retention
Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources and protected from light.
The expiry date refers to the intact and correctly stored product.
The expiry date is indicated on the package.
