The solution for acute, chronic injuries and burns

It helps to reduce the formation of bacterial biofilm by disaggregating the mucopolysaccharide matrix synthesized by the bacterial colonies present on the wound bed.

Chronic lesions often have a superficial coating consisting of residues of exudate, cells coming from tissue desquamation, fibrin shoots, necrotic tissue, and bacterial biofilm, which concur to hinder the process of fibroblastic proliferation and therefore cause a delay, even considerable, of tissue repair processes.

If these structures are present in a thin layer on the wound bed, Prontosan® solution can be used at each dressing change.

The cationic surfactant (Undecylen-amidopropylbetaine) contained in Prontosan®, disaggregates the bacterial biofilm and cleanses the lesion. The jet produced by exerting a slight pressure on the bottle is also able to physically remove the residues from the wound bed.
Prontosan® helps to minimize trauma to dressing changes by reducing any damage to the newly formed granulation tissue and reducing pain.
