Useful supplement for the well-being of the respiratory tract

The Propolis line is designed to help the well-being of the upper respiratory tract, it consists of rich formulations capable of providing a natural protective and reinforcing barrier for the respiratory system.
The formulas make use of the presence of natural components with an "antibacterial" action and of micronutrients essential to our immune system.

Components and main activities

Propolis

Propolis is a resinous substance that bees collect from the buds and bark of plants. It is a substance of purely vegetable origin even if the bees, after harvesting, process it with the addition of wax, pollen and enzymes produced by the bees themselves. For this reason today it is considered a beekeeping product. It is impossible to define an exact and universally valid composition of Propolis as it is extremely variable depending on the vegetation of origin, the season and many other factors. In the course of numerous studies on Propolis of various origins, more than 150 different biochemical compounds have been identified and others are still discovered today.

To simplify, we can divide the main components into five large groups

Resins (45-55%)
Wax and fatty acids (25-35%)
Essential oils and volatile substances (10%)
Pollen (5%)
Organic and mineral compounds (5%).

Going into detail among the components of greatest interest we can mention

  • Minerals: Mg, Ca, I, K, Na, Cu, Zn, Mn and Fe
  • Vitamins: B1, B2, B6, C, E, PP
  • Enzymes
  • Acids
  • Coumarins
  • Alcohols
  • Aldehydes
  • Flavonoids
  • Terpenes
  • Amino acids
  • Fatty acids
  • Ketones
  • Miscellaneous: sterols, polysaccharides, lactones

Particular mention deserves the group of flavonoids which are contained in large quantities in Propolis (up to 20% of weight). The bee modifies the structure of flavonoids, originally present in plants, removing the sugars contained in the organic compound thanks to the enzymes produced by their salivary glands.

From the health point of view, Propolis performs the functions of antibiotic and antiviral.

It has always been known for its properties

Antiseptics : containment in a natural way of worms (anthelmintic), bacteria (antibiotic) and fungi (antifungal), accentuation of the self-defenses of plants, reduction of the formation of physiological gums of stone fruit.
Cicatrisants : rapid drying and healing of wounds caused by pruning cuts, climatic events (hail, wind, etc.), insect bites.

How to use

We recommend taking 22-30 drops a day, with a little water or fruit juice.
