COMPOSITION

Serenoa repens (saw palmetto) is a dwarf palm of the Aracaceae family, the only species of the genus Serenoa, widespread in the southern regions of the United States. Scientific studies have shown that this plant is useful as an adjunct in the treatment of the physiological well-being of the prostate gland and consequently of the urinary symptoms associated with it, such as difficulty in starting urination, weakened urine stream, prolonged urination, feeling of not completely emptying the bladder, increased frequency of nocturnal urination, as it inhibits cell proliferation by inhibiting the 5-α-reductase enzyme. Furthermore, it has an anti-inflammatory action, therefore it is also indicated in prostatitis.
Lycopene is a carotenoid normally contained in tomatoes and other vegetables; helps keep the prostate healthy and reduces oxidative damage to cells and prostate tissue.
Boswellia is also known as an incense plant native to India. The resin is used, which is rich in chemical substances, called Boswellic acids, and in Triterpenes, with a particular pharmacological activity, widely demonstrated both with experiments on animals and on humans, that is to inhibit some enzymes (5-lipoxygenase) , responsible for the synthesis of leukotrienes, important chemical mediators of inflammation.
Zinc is an important nutrient due to the role it plays in the functioning of the prostate, in the metabolism of the sex hormone, in the formation and mobility of sperm. It inhibits 5-α-reductase, like Serenoa repens, and has shown beneficial effects in the treatment of both benign prostatic hypertrophy and prostatitis. It is an antioxidant.
Vitamin E (Tocopherol) is a fat-soluble vitamin associated with biological membranes and lipoproteins. Protects polyunsaturated fats from peroxidation. It has an antioxidant activity,
