RED TUNA

Red tuna in jar, 100 g of fresh product provide 160 kcal about double the tuna in drained oil. The meat of bluefin tuna is rich in micronutrients such as: calcium (38 mg%), phosphorus (264 mg%), selenium (0.11 mg%); but also iron, manganese, copper and iodine. Tuna is a food with a high protein intake and rich in essential fatty acids, but at the same time low-calorie when consumed naturally. The percentage of fat content is also reduced; that of essential fatty acids is high because the juvenile bluefin tuna feeds on plankton, which produces and contains the Omega 3 fats useful for keeping cholesterol under control.
