DISPOSABLE ECOLOGICAL TRAP FOR CATCHING FLIES
Description
REDTOP represents a very simple and effective system to reduce the population of flies, which for technical and also "aesthetic" reasons, is recommended to be applied outdoors. Field trials have demonstrated its effectiveness and how the trap has managed to capture up to 12,000 flies in a week. REDTOP is made up of a resistant nylon bag with a maximum capacity of 3 liters to be filled by 2/3 with water, a plastic lid with a raised cap in the center (trap entrance); the trap is fixed by means of a string attached to the lid. The trap is equipped with an effective primer for up to six weeks. The primer is based on dehydrated protein flour.
REDTOP is particularly suitable for stables, kennels, places of containment of organic material and for any other place infested with flies.
How to use
Assembly:
1) Remove the red lid and unfold the bag well.
2) Straighten the cone grill and make sure the hole in the tip of the cone is open.
3) Pour the contents of the bag into the trap and add 1 liter of tepid water (if the water should be milky due to the chlorine, let it rest for 24 hours before activating the trap).
4) Replace the red lid by inserting the pins into the holes located on the body of the trap.
Placement:
- between 5 and 10 meters (not less than 5 meters) from the place where the flies reproduce (e.g. livestock farms, MSW, landfills, decomposing organic material, etc.).
- Position it at about 1.80 (min) 2.30 (max) meters from the ground in an intermediate position between the fly breeding site and the place to be protected.
- Facing the sun, keeping it sheltered from any gusts of wind, possibly in areas of partial shade.
- In case of failed capture (with temperature conditions greater than or equal to 18°C), reposition the trap, taking care to check the previous indications and the trend of the air currents.
Suggestions:
- The trap releases strong odors; its use inside buildings is not recommended.
- Prepare a new trap at least 3/4 days before replacing it, thus ensuring that the capture is kept constant.
- The water must always be at the same level for optimal operation, restore it when it drops.
- For the protection of livestock shelters, form a belt of traps around them spaced between about 5-30 m.
Warnings
Do not leave the traps within the reach of children and pets.
Due to the presence of captured flies, the trap may contain pathogenic microorganisms.
Dispose of the bag according to current legislation.
