Ellagitannins are a heterogeneous class of molecules contained in plants and fruits, including pomegranate, chestnut and raspberries that perform several important functions including anti-tumor, anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory, in particular:

• UROLITHINE
  It is an oxidative stress modulator that plays an important role in most chronic pathologies, also modulating the aging process. Through the phenomenon of mitophagy , it leads to the elimination of damaged mitochondria, accelerating their replacement with new functioning ones.
• ELLAGIC ACID
  Several studies show that ellagic acid plays an antimetastatic function in different types of cancer. For example, in CRC it inhibits tumor growth by suppressing the migration of tumor cells thanks to a down-regulation of metalloproteases . In prostate cancer, ellagic acid has an anti-proliferative activity and promotes apoptosis.

CAROB

• QUERCETINA
  Quercetin is a flavonoid found in different types of foods such as carob, apples, berries and onions. This molecule carries out various activities including anti-bacterial by inhibiting the motility of bacteria, anti-oxidant and neuro-protective protecting neural cells from the toxicity caused by the peptide-amyloid.
• CATECHINE
  Catechins are natural polyphenols found in various foods and plants such as carob, tea and cocoa. This class of molecules is known to be a powerful anti-bacterial and antiviral ; they regulate the microbiota , relieving inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract (IBD) and have an anti-oxidant function .
