Dry skin is a condition characterized by damage to the outer protective layer of the skin that becomes chapped, red and itchy. Skin dryness is caused by agents capable of reducing the presence of fats (lipids) in the outermost layer of the skin (stratum corneum). This becomes visibly dry, less elastic and its ability to protect and retain water in the underlying layers, necessary for proper hydration, is reduced. The lack of lipids to protect the skin not only favors the loss of an excessive amount of water by the skin itself, but also the aggression of external agents that worsen the symptoms by causing irritation. Causes of skin dryness can also include aging. Elderly people are in fact more predisposed because their skin naturally tends to produce less lipids. Even in infants and children, the use of ELAGE leads to re-epithelization and naturally reactivates the synthesis of deficient lipids thanks to the sacha inchi oil. Thanks to the contribution of this oil, it quickly soothes irritations. In phlebopathic patients, a dry skin condition is often observed that leads the patient to scratch with consequent triggering of small ulcers.
