EARLY PREGNANCY TEST
Description
In vitro diagnostic medical device.
Rapid immunochromatographic test that detects the hCG hormone thanks to special gold-conjugated monoclonal antibodies incorporated in the test strip.
Detects the presence of the hCG hormone in urine at very low concentrations (10mIU/mL).
How to use
Open the protective pouch and take the device for testing. Throw away the desiccant sachet contained in the foil pouch.
Remove the protective cap exposing the absorbent tip. Turn the device so that the reading window faces up and the absorbent tip faces down. Place the absorbent tip directly under the urine stream for at least 10 seconds. Make sure that urine drops do not get on the reading window.
If you prefer, it is also possible to collect the urine contained in a clean and dry container (not supplied) without residues and completely immerse the absorbent tip (the entire oval) for 10 seconds.
Replace the protective cap on the absorbent tip. Place the test on a flat, dry surface with the reading window facing up. Read the result after exactly 5 minutes.
The color intensity of the lines is of no importance for the interpretation of the test result.
Interpretation of results
- POSITIVE: two colored lines appear in the reading window and in the T (Test) and C (Control) regions. The intensity of the T (Test) line may be lighter than the C (Control) line. This indicates that the concentration of the hCG hormone in the urine is equal to or greater than 10mIU/mL indicating pregnancy. Strong positives appear before the fifth minute.
- NEGATIVE: Only one colored line appears in region C (Control). This indicates that the concentration of the hCG hormone in the urine is less than 10 mIU/mL and therefore the woman is not pregnant.
- INVALID: no line develops in region C (Control) and it is impossible to interpret the result of the test which is defined as invalid. It is recommended to repeat the test with a new EARLY PREGNANCY TEST and a new urine sample. The most frequent causes of improper use are: the absorbent tip has been immersed for too long or too little or the reading window has been wetted by urine splashes during placement under the urinary stream.
Warnings
Open the sealed aluminum pouch only before carrying out the test, pay attention to the opening sign.
The desiccant sachet should not be used. Eliminate it by disposing of it together with household waste, without opening it.
