Pain Therapy Electrostimulator

TENS is Maniquick's electro-medical device for the treatment of acute and chronic pain in the pain therapy procedure.

TENS sends electrical impulses which, passing through the skin, stimulate the nerves in the area undergoing treatment. In most cases, this stimulation is sufficient to greatly reduce or eliminate sensitivity to acute or chronic pain.

Tests currently underway on the use of TENS are determining whether this electrical stimulation of the nerves favors the release of endorphins into the blood, thus also contributing to a physiological reduction in pain.

TENS includes 3 types of treatment: Burst (B), Continuous (C) and Modular (M).

In Burst mode (B), single beams are generated twice per second, of adjustable duration. Continuous stimulation (C) is performed continuously according to the selected settings for pulse intensity, frequency and duration. The modulated operation (M) reduces the set value of the pulses by 60%, with a duration maintained for 2 seconds, and then goes back to the selected level for another 3.5 seconds.

Attention! Although TENS is easy to use independently, due to the intensity of the electrical impulses it is recommended to use this device only after consulting a doctor, especially if you have electronic devices (e.g. pacemakers) or metal implants, and never in following cases:

• To treat pain that affects the carotid nerve (throat)
• To treat pains that affect the nerves that carry current transcelebrally (through the head)
• To treat general pain until the cause is known or diagnosed as chronic
• During pregnancy or childbirth

Tips for Using TENS, Electrostimulator for Pain Therapy

Attention! Due to the variety of options for using this device, we recommend that you carefully read the instruction booklet included in the package and consult a doctor before first use.

Grasp the top end of the cover from the side to use the controls.

The intensity regulators of the electrical impulse are used to turn on the device, as well as to affect the power of the stimulation.

Before turning on the device, clean with water and neutral soap and carefully dry the areas of skin on which the electrodes will be placed. If necessary, a disinfectant recommended by the doctor can also be used.

Set the type of treatment by selecting the three treatment modes choosing between "Beam (BURST) B", "Continuous (Continuous) C" and "Modulated (Modulated) M".

To remove the electrodes after treatment, always remove them in the direction of hair growth.

It may be helpful to apply a skin cream to the area that has been in contact with the electrodes.
