Sereprost One

Food supplement for prostate and urinary tract

It is a food supplement based on Serenoa, Turmeric, Green Tea, Maqui and Lycopene with Copper and Zinc. Serenoa is useful for promoting the functionality of the prostate and urinary tract. Green tea contributes to the drainage of body fluids and is a tonic in cases of physical and mental fatigue. Green tea, Maqui and Turmeric also have antioxidant power. Zinc contributes to normal fertility, normal reproduction and the maintenance of physiological testosterone levels in the blood. Copper contributes to the normal function of the immune system and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.

Property

In recent years, the interest and use of complementary alternative therapies, especially nutraceuticals, have been steadily increasing. In Italy it is estimated that 50% of the remedies used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) are of the phytotherapeutic type, while in Germany and in other European countries, phytotherapy is considered the first resort treatment for prostate and lower urinary tract infections. All nutraceuticals with anti-inflammatory activity can play a protective role in the prostate.
Recent data indicate that 50% of men have suffered from an inflammatory episode of the prostate at least once in their life.
Over 50% of men between the ages of 60 and 69 have clinically significant benign prostatic hypertrophy, or hyperplasia.
Epidemiological studies suggest that low calorie diets with low levels of saturated fat, rich in fish, fiber, fruit and vegetables containing antioxidants, phytoestrogens and carotenoids may both reduce the incidence and improve the course of benign prostatic hyperplasia. The control of body weight is a very important factor, as it has been shown that abdominal fat is able to alter the male hormonal profile, resulting in an aggressive action on the prostate. It is essential to drink enough (1-2 liters of water a day) to allow the dilution and elimination of any bacteria present in the bladder.

As always, also for the control of prostate disorders it is good to favor a diet based on fresh plant foods, limiting the intake of foods of animal origin. The excessive consumption of foods of animal origin, in fact, causes acidification of the organism and urine, which can cause an inflammatory state of the prostate, prostatitis.
It is estimated that 70% of men 50-60 years old (percentage which reaches 80% after the age of 80) are affected by benign prostatic hyperplasia, a benign enlargement of the prostate gland that can exceed 3-5 times the normal size.
The growth of the prostate gland progressively narrows the urethra, causing difficulty in urinating. If this condition continues over time and no action is taken, the bladder loses efficiency, forming diverticula, increasing the risk of contracting infections and developing bladder stones.
Serenoa repens is a dwarf palm widespread in the United States, southern Europe and North Africa that shows multiple mechanisms of action:
inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase, inhibition of the androgen receptor DHT, reduction of the inflammatory component of prostate growth (inhibition of COX-2 and lipoxygenase) and inhibition of prostate cell proliferation.
Serenoa repens is mainly recommended in the treatment of diseases of the male uro-genital system, in benign prostatic hypertrophy at the first stage, in which urinary disorders predominate, "dysuria". It is also useful in the second stage, in which urinary retention increases, so the bladder never empties completely, always remaining a residue. Recent studies have shown a very large percentage of positive results on urinary and laboratory symptoms, accompanied by an improvement in the quality of life, in reducing inflammation and enlargement of the prostate. It has also been shown that it acts specifically in the prostate cell by limiting cell proliferation, responsible for prostate enlargement.
Curcuminoids, one of the active ingredients contained in Curcuma, is the main responsible for the beneficial activities: spasmolytic of the biliary tract, anti-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory, it has an anti-inflammatory action if you are in the presence of arthritis, or to relieve inflammation of the wounds, digestive because stimulates bile secretion favoring the digestion of fats. It also appears to have an androgenic effect, increasing sperm motility without increasing sperm count.
In addition to its isolated component, turmeric in its entirety has also been shown to be able in some researches to inhibit cancer cells in vitro. The first study on this substance dates back to the 1970s, when a group of Indian researchers demonstrated its cholesterol-lowering effect on rats. The bulk of the research, however, began about 20 years later, mainly by Prof Bharat Aggarwal. In the 1980s, he was the first to purify TNF alpha and beta (Tumor Necrosis Factor), a powerful antitumor factor produced by our body. It occurred to him that Ayurvedic medicine uses turmeric as a valid anti-inflammatory remedy. Hundreds of studies have been conducted since then. According to the researchers, curcumin could be useful in at least 8 cancers: lungs, mouth, colon, liver, kidney, skin (melanoma), breast and leukemia. Numerous mechanisms have been described
action for the anticancer activity of Curcumin.
Inhibition of tumor cell proliferation, induction of apoptosis (a mode of cell death), inhibition of the transformation of cells from normal to tumor, inhibition of the formation of the vessels that feed the tumor (anti-angiogenic effect), inhibition of invasiveness and metastasis and suppression of inflammation have been linked with the anticancer activity of Curcumin.
Green tea is particularly rich in catechins, active ingredients which have been attributed numerous biological properties such as: control of blood pressure and cholesterol levels, weight reduction, an antioxidant function and anticancer activity. It is known that, in countries with high tea consumption (China and Japan), the percentage of patients suffering from certain forms of cancer is not high: a clear example is the low incidence of prostate cancer, the second cause of death related to tumors in western countries. A study conducted by Prof. Saverio Bettuzzi of the University of Parma (in collaboration with Prof. Arnaldo Corti of the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and Dr. Maurizio Brausi, Head of Urology at the Carpi Hospital ) has shown that green tea is particularly effective in preventing prostate cancer.

The study was conducted in men with high-grade Prostatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia (or HG-PIN) an initial lesion for which no therapy is envisaged and is known to be related to a high risk of developing prostate cancer. The final result showed how the administration, for 1 year, of 600 mg per day of total catechins, of which at least 50% of EGCG (epigallocatechingallate, the most powerful molecule), reduced the risk of tumor development by 90%. . In Southern Chile, a plant grows spontaneously that for millennia has given "strength and longevity" to the indigenous natives: we are talking about the "Aristotelia Chilensis", more commonly known as Maqui (we read "machì"), an evergreen characterized by white flowers and berries. an intense blue color. This plant, which ripens in summer and whose berries have a taste reminiscent of that of elderberry, produces just 10 kg of fruit every 7 years due to the "prohibitive weather conditions" in which it grows: cold temperatures, exposure to ozone and very violent winds. Precisely for this extreme environment, the Maqui plant "responds" with an overproduction of delphinidins, powerful natural antioxidants.
We are talking about a fruit that has the greatest antioxidant power in nature: in fact the ORAC value (the scale used to indicate the antioxidant activity in the laboratory) of Maqui is about 3 times higher than that of bilberry and 7 times higher than that of pomegranate.
The polyphenols contained in the fruit counteract the formation of free radicals and take on the role of "scavengers" within our body, activating the antioxidant mechanisms of our cells and preventing diseases related to aging. Polyphenols "modulate" cellular inflammation, a phenomenon of cellular alteration that stress and unregulated nutrition can make
chronic, thus reducing or deteriorating the functionality of various organs. Furthermore, polyphenols assist cells in achieving an optimal energy state by activating the so-called "enzyme of life", an enzyme that facilitates the development of energy from fats, reduces the synthesis of cholesterol and improves blood flow.
Lycopene is a carotenoid present in high concentrations in tomatoes, which shows very interesting biological actions. Like all carotenoids it is not synthesized by the body and therefore must be taken with the diet. Lycopene is part of the antioxidant network, which helps prevent oxidative stress.
Recent studies suggest that lycopene supplementation could slow prostate enlargement and reduce symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia.
In a recent study, 37 men (45-70 years old) with BPH received 15 mg of lycopene per day or a placebo for 6 months. At the end of the observation, the subjects who had taken lycopene showed no prostate enlargement, unlike the placebo subjects. Intake of lycopene has also been associated with improvement in BPH symptoms.
Zinc is an essential trace mineral used in many bodily processes. In humans, it affects the development of the sexual organs and prostate function. In particular, its deficiency can promote harmful changes in the size and structure of the prostate which contains more zinc than any other part of the human body. In cases of prostate disorders, especially prostate cancer, the zinc levels in the gland drop.
In prostatic hypertrophy, its administration is able to reduce the size of the gland itself and to alleviate the symptoms associated with it. Zinc supplementation is particularly appropriate in medium-sized hypertrophy with 2nd class IPSS (mild to moderate symptoms).
A dietary supplement designed for prostate health should maintain a proper balance between zinc and copper, because long-term use of zinc can reduce the absorption of copper in the body.
Studies in both animals and humans suggest that, for optimal utilization of both minerals, the balance between zinc and copper should be about ten to one.
