Four centuries ago, in India, Emperor Shah Jahan fell madly in love with Princess Mumtaz Mahal. For her he created the splendid Shalimar Gardens and then dedicated the Taj Mahal to her, one of the new seven wonders of the world. This incredible story sparked the imagination of Jacques Guerlain, who in 1925 created Shalimar, the first oriental perfume in history.
