SILIMARK
gel based on silicone and vitamins
composed of:
cyclosilicone and dimethicone (polysiloxane);
coenzyme Q10;
Vitamin E;
unsaponifiable fraction of olive oil;
zinc oxide;
Tri-solve lipid fraction (trehalose, ceramide 2, cholesterol).
Silicone - polysiloxane: Silicone forms a film, i.e. an artificial membrane that (silicone cycle + dimethicone) prevents the skin from drying out and isolates it from external agents. The combination of high and low molecular weight silicone is easier to spread and causes less pain.
Tri-solve: This combination of lipids is able to manage the disorders of the skin barrier (trehalose, keramide 2, cholesterol) through the hydration of the superficial horny state useful for preventing skin dryness typical of newly formed skin.
Coenzyme Q10: It has a restructuring and regenerating action on the tissues, therefore (ubidecarenone) useful in the remodeling of damaged skin after the re-epithelialization phase.
Vitamin E: It is an antioxidant that protects the skin from environmental agents and regulates hydration.
The unsaponifiables of olive oil: reduces the erythema of scars thanks to its soothing and anti-edema action.
Zinc oxide: has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory power. It is an essential and indispensable element in the use of cellular energy, present in all types of tissues as a constituent of many enzymatic systems. In situations of zinc deficiency, alterations can occur in the growing tissues, such as those of the skin and the immune system.
Both Silicone and Tri-solve considerably reduce skin dehydration and are therefore main components of Silimark.
INDICATION: Hypertrophic and erymatous scars caused by burns (both from burning and iatrogenic agents, following laser, radiofrequency, electrocoagulation and radiotherapy), from surgery or post-traumatic wounds, both sutured and closed by secondary intention. It can also be used on keloids, thanks to its silicone film formation, which forms a barrier that prevents dehydration of the newly formed skin.
It is ideal for dichromic, dry and scaly scalps, typical of vascular pathologies of the lower limbs and dystrophic and thin scalps typical of the elderly.
The best use and the best results are obtained when the cream is applied immediately after the re-epithelialization phase or after the removal of the sutures.
Dehydration is the main cause of continuous neoangiogenesis, typical of hypertrophic scars; in fact this dehydration helps to form new blood vessels and therefore to draw more and more blood through the newly formed capillaries. The recall of blood, and consequently of oxygen, also increases the production of hypertrophic tissue, thus triggering a vicious circle that thickens the newly formed skin more and more.
Neoangiogenesis, which is used by the repartition process to hydrate the new skin, is more important and long-lasting in post burn scars.
DOSAGE: 2-3 times a day for at least 6 months. In burns even up to 18 months, at the discretion of the attending physician.
