MARIJUANA TEST
Description
Rapid lateral flow immunochromatographic test for the determination of 11-nor-delta9-THC-9 COOH (THC metabolite) in human urine at a limiting concentration of 50 ng/mL.
This test provides preliminary analytical data only. More specific chemical methods should be used to confirm the analytical result. Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS) are considered preferential confirmation methods.
Each result for determining the presence of drugs of abuse must be correlated to clinical considerations and professional judgment, in particular when the preliminary result is positive.
Instructions for use
Collect the urine sample in a clean, dry container. Urine samples collected at any time of the day can be used.
Urine samples can be stored at a temperature of 2-8°C for a maximum of 48 hours. For extended storage, samples can be frozen and stored below -20°C. Before using frozen samples it is necessary to thaw them and mix them thoroughly.
Before testing, bring the test device and urine sample to room temperature (15-30°C).
Take out the test device and use it as soon as possible. Place the device on a clean, flat surface.
Hold the dropper vertically and dispense three drops of urine (approximately 120 mcL) into the sample well (S) of the test device. Avoid the formation of bubbles.
Start the timer and read the result after 5 minutes. Do not interpret the result after 10 minutes.
Interpretation of results
NEGATIVE: Two colored lines appear, the test line (T) and the control line (C). The color intensity of the test line (T) may vary but this is of no relevance to the interpretation of the test results, the result must in any case be considered negative.
The negative result indicates that the concentration of marijuana is below the detectable level (50 ng/mL).
POSITIVE: only the control line (C) appears. The test line (T) does not appear.
The positive result indicates that the concentration of marijuana is above the detectable level of 50 ng/mL.
INVALID: no line appears or only the test line (T) appears. The result is to be considered invalid. It is recommended to repeat the test. If the problem persists, contact the seller.
Warnings
Product not intended for medical or diagnostic use.
Store the device in the closed package until ready for use.
All samples must be considered potentially dangerous and, therefore, must be handled with the precautions for use relating to potentially infectious products.
After use, the test must be disposed of according to local regulations.
The test provides a qualitative result to be considered preliminary. A second analytical method must be considered to confirm the result. Gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC/MS) are considered preferential confirmation methods.
It is possible that technical or procedural errors, as well as interfering substances present in the urine sample, could cause erroneous results.
A positive result indicates the presence of the drug or its metabolites but not the level of intoxication, the route of administration or the concentration in the urine.
A negative result does not necessarily mean that the urine sample is drug-free. A negative result may be obtained when the drug is present but at a concentration below the detection level of the test.
