SOLPROST® SFGroup - Medical Device

Solprost is a medical device based on plant extracts useful as an adjuvant in treatments aimed at maintaining the properties of the prostate gland or known for its beneficial properties on the functions of the urinary system. It can have a beneficial effect in inflammatory diseases of the prostate and in actinic (radiotherapy-induced) or other proctitis. The product is suitable for short-term use for constipation and haemorrhoidal congestion through a soothing action.

How to use

One suppository a day is recommended, preferably in the evening before going to bed. For optimal functioning it is recommended to apply the suppository correctly, making sure that it is correctly inserted in the deepest part of the rectal ampoule.
Solprost suppositories can reduce the time spent in the intestine, and consequently also the absorption of other drugs taken simultaneously orally; it is therefore advisable, after taking a medicine by mouth, to leave at least 2 hours before taking Solprost.

Warnings

As far as possible, avoid taking Solprost while using other devices or medicinal products. In any case, consult your doctor before taking Solprost in case of pharmacological therapies in progress.
There are no known side effects in the short or medium / long term. Solprost does not negatively affect sensory abilities (level of attention, ability to drive or perform activities). However, if undesirable effects arise such as excessive irritation, pain or any discomfort that may appear to be related to the use of the medical device, discontinue treatment immediately and contact your doctor.
The uneven dark color that the suppository may present is a characteristic of the product, and is not an indication of degradation of the efficacy or of poor conservation of the same.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister.
Solprost is not sterile; however it is advisable not to use suppositories in case of damaged primary packaging (blister).
Each suppository is disposable and must be extracted from the package only immediately before use: do not use suppositories broken or extracted from the blister in unknown times, as this method of use could involve risks of contamination of the product. Do not attempt to reuse accidentally leaking suppositories after the first attempt to use.
Do not exceed the recommended dose.
In case of ineffectiveness of the medical device after correct use according to the recommended dosage, discontinue use and contact your doctor.
The abuse of laxatives, especially contact laxatives (stimulant laxatives), can cause addiction, chronic constipation and loss of normal intestinal functions (intestinal atony), persistent diarrhea with consequent loss of water, mineral salts (especially potassium) and other nutritional factors essential. In the most severe cases of abuse, dehydration or hypokalaemia may develop, which can lead to cardiac or neuromuscular dysfunction, especially in the case of simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides, diuretics or corticosteroids.
Do not use under the age of 12.
The intake of Solprost is not recommended in case of known hyper-sensitivity of the user to one of the components. Also do not use in case of:
- acute abdominal pain or of unknown origin;
- nausea or vomiting;
- intestinal obstruction or stricture;
- rectal bleeding of unknown origin;
- acute hemorrhoidal crisis with pain and bleeding;
- severe state of dehydration.
Solprost can be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, but only in cases of real need and only after consulting your doctor.
The elderly or in poor health conditions must in any case consult their doctor before using Solprost.

storage

Store the suppositories in the blister, in a dry place and away from direct light or heat sources: extract the suppository only immediately before use. Store the device below 25 ° C.
Validity for intact packaging: 24 months.
