Description
Quantitative and rapid immunochromatographic veterinary diagnostic test which allows obtaining a measurement of total circulating T4 through laser-induced fluorescence analysis.
Fluorescence immunoassay for the quantitative measurement of thyroxine (total T4) in canine and feline serum or plasma.
Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism are among the most common endocrine disorders in dogs and cats respectively. Thyroxine is a hormone synthesized by the thyroid gland.
Total T4 measurement provides useful information for screening and diagnosing thyroid disease.

Instructions for use
The Speed T4 cannot be interpreted visually and must only be read using a Speed Reader analyzer. For complete instructions, refer to the Speed Reader Operator's Guide.
Do not mix test devices, reagent tubes, and calibration chips from different lots.
Allow the reagent and cell to reach room temperature (18°C to 27°C) for at least 10 minutes before use.
Set the Speed Reader analyzer parameters as described in the operator's guide.
Sample transfer :
Using the dropper tip, pierce the aluminum foil to fully open the reagent tube. Place a new disposable tip on the pipette.
Transfer 50 mcL of sample into the reagent tube, following the instructions for correct use of the pipette. Be careful not to touch the walls of the reagent tube with the tip.
Carefully seal the reagent tube with the dropper cap.
Gently mix the contents by inverting the tube at least 5 times. Do not shake.
Allow the sample/reagent mixture to stand for 5 minutes. It is important to respect the timing of this phase exactly. After 5 minutes, use the sample/reagent mixture immediately.
Sample Application :
Remove the plastic cover from the dropper cap and discard the first 2 drops of the mixture to flush out the dead space.
Add 2 drops of mixture to the sample well of the test cell.
Reading :
When the analyzer instruction appears, insert the test cell into the Speed Reader cartridge holder in the direction indicated by the arrow (sample well first) and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Read the results on the screen.
Interpretation :
Total T4 concentrations are measured in nmol/L.
Dynamic range: 8 nmol/L to 90 nmol/L.
