Squdo® Aqma Food Supplement

Squdo® is a food supplement based on Lactoferrin, Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper, Selenium and Vitamin D. Vitamin C, zinc, copper, selenium and vitamin D contribute to the normal function of the immune system.

Characteristics

Lactoferrin is a glycoprotein of the transferrin family characterized by a high iron complexation capacity. It is present in higher quantities in the colostrum and milk of most mammals, but also in many body fluids such as saliva, nasal secretions, tears, vaginal secretions etc.

Studies on the three-dimensional structure of Lactoferrin have shown the presence of two similar lobes, each of which has a site capable of reversibly binding a ferric ion (Fe3).

The affinity of Lactoferrin towards iron is 300 times higher than that of other transferrin.

Vitamin C, zinc, copper, selenium and vitamin D are vitamins and minerals with a modulating action against inflammation and the immune system.

Biological functions of Lactoferrin

In addition to its role in regulating iron homeostasis, Lactoferrin has long been known for its other important actions, including immunostimulating and anti-inflammatory, antiviral and antimicrobial, sebum-regulating and protecting the mucous membranes from attack by pathogens.

In particular, Lactoferrin appears to be involved in a complex mechanism of activation of proteins responsible for the release of iron from the tissues towards the circulation. Once available, the iron can then be reused for the synthesis of hemoglobin, an important constituent of red blood cells.

In support of these assumptions, recent clinical evidence shows that Lactoferrin, administered orally, increases not only the blood concentration of hemoglobin, but also the serum concentration of total iron.

Lactoferrin has been shown to have the ability to stimulate the immune system to counter pathogenic invasion and to prevent immune and inflammatory responses that are harmful to the body.1

Use

The intake is indicated in case of reduced intake from the diet of Lactoferrin, Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper, Selenium and Vitamin D, in order to provide an additional supply of these nutrients in case of deficiency or increased need. These nutrients contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Furthermore, Lactoferrin can be useful for a physiological improvement of iron metabolism, especially in cases of deficiencies attributable to poor nutrition or situations of increased iron requirement.

How to use

It is recommended to take one tablet a day to chew or to dissolve in the mouth, between meals
