DESCRIPTION

Prolei complex is a titrated and standardized phytoestrogen pn'vo complex useful as an alternative to hormone therapy | and replacement for women with symptoms typical of menopause and perimenopause also induced by drugs used to inhibit estrogenic action.

INGREDIANTS

• Black cohosh rhizome 60 mg per ovaline standardized in triterpene glycosides (2.5%)
• Vit D3 (25 mcg per tablet corresponding to 1000 IU which allow its use as monotherapy for the prevention of vertebral damage)
• Monakolin K (useful for the control of the Iipidic metabolism)
• 5 — hydroxytryptophan from Griffonia, Valerian and Theanine (natural psychoactive molecules useful for the control of anxiety, depression, irritability, insomnia).

Black Cohosh and Breast Cancer

Several in vitro and in vivo studies have been conducted on Black Cohosh to demonstrate that it can be considered a valid and safe alternative for the treatment of climacteric symptoms even in those women for whom hormone replacement or phytoestrogen therapy is not indicated.
An in vitro study investigated the effect of an isopropanolic extract of black cohosh on the proliferation of human MCF7 breast cancer cells in the absence of estrogen. The extract in question did not stimulate the growth of MCF7 but rather tended to hinder it, showing a clearly anti-estrogenic effect. In the absence of estrogen, therefore, the isopropanolic extract of Black Cohosh inhibits the proliferation of tumor cells! MCF7 breasts sensitive to estrogen and enhances the inhibiting effect of tamoxifen. In several studies, the use of black cohosh has had a significant protective effect on breast cancer. Literature reports that Black Cohosh can be effective in treating symptoms of menopause and has antiestrogenic, antiproliferative and antioxidant properties.
