Beans are the best known and most cultivated legumes in the world and have more than 300 varieties. Borlotti beans, perhaps the most common variety, find their cradle of origin in South America. Imported and consumed in Italy already in Roman times, it was only in the period of Christopher Columbus that they began to be cultivated in Italy as well. Today they are grown mainly in Piedmont. They differ from Chinese "Borlottini" for their size (the Italian ones are larger) and for their superior organoleptic qualities.
How to use
After appropriate soaking and cooking for about two hours, boiled beans are obtained which can be used in many preparations.
