LOTUS ROOT (SLICES)

The Lotus plant (Nelumbo nucifera) grows wild in the lakes and ponds of Japan and has a root that has been part of the oriental daily diet for centuries.

These fleshy roots are harvested by hand during the winter months when they are richer in sap and nutrients. They are then cut into slices and left to dry in the sun, to be stored and used all year round.

INGREDIANTS
Lotus Root (Nelumbo nucifera)

HOW TO USE

Add a cup of water to 1/4 cup of lotus root. Boil slowly for about 10 minutes, add a few drops of Shoyu and possibly a little ginger. Drink hot.
