The field of application of mediven Thrombexin 18 mm Hg anti-thrombosis stockings extends to the prevention of thrombosis before, during and after surgery. If the risk of thrombosis is moderate or high, prevention with anti-thrombus stockings is often supplemented with medications (eg heparin) and other measures (eg medical gymnastics).

By means of a compression that is progressively reduced from the ankle (about 18 mmHg) to the thigh (about 8 mmHg), the return of venous blood is optimally accelerated.

Opening for inspection : allows you to check the condition of the blood circulation at any time, without having to remove the socks. If discolouration changes appear, which are usually an indication of arterial problems, these are immediately identified and the most appropriate measures can be taken immediately. Plus, toe hygiene is easier too.

3D heel : The heel region, which is particularly subject to wear, is protected by the padded Soft heel. The highly absorbent material used diverts moisture from the skin and effectively prevents maceration (skin softening). Thus, the appearance of heel pressure sores (heel ulcerations following prolonged bed rest) is permanently prevented.

Colored marking : A clear colored marking on the heel and on the upper end of mediven thrombexin 18, below the hem, indicates the size of the sock. The marking on the heel serves to correctly position the sock on the foot. In addition, the size of the sock is indicated on the label sewn onto the sock.

Silicone hold-up ring : the colored rectangular markings on the silicone hold-up ring indicate whether the chosen size corresponds to the circumference of the thigh. Thus, it is possible to ascertain at first glance that the return of venous blood is not hindered or even blocked. Of course, even with the “smart” hold-up ring, correct sock measurement is essential for optimal treatment.

Antibacterial toe: mediven thrombexin 18 is the first anti-thrombus preventive sock with incorporated antibacterial toe. It has been shown that the antimicrobial characteristics of the knitted yarn used lead to a significant reduction of germs and "hospital" fungi between the toes and at the metatarsophalangeal joints. This effect is not achieved simply by adding a substance, but is rather achieved thanks to a physico-chemical production process. This ensures that the germ growth inhibiting effect remains preserved even after several washes.

Exceptional comfort : The breathable and moisture-wicking fabric offers optimal requirements for a pleasant feeling of freshness. The accumulation of heat, often blamed, is significantly reduced thanks to the air permeability of the fabric and favors the cooling effect of evaporation.

Materials: 82% polyamide, 18% elastane, latex free.

The careful choice of materials is an essential requirement for high product quality. Latex processing was consciously renounced to prevent allergic reactions in patients and healthcare professionals. A special feature of our anti-thrombus stockings and stocking bandages is the use of a “naked”, uncoated elastane thread, which gives the stocking its compression and high elasticity characteristics. Thus, patients with a thigh diameter of up to 90 cm can be treated.
