POLYURETHANE FOAMS

Indications:
in the treatment of non-infected wounds, with medium or high exudate production, during the granulation and re-epithelialization phases (leg ulcers, bedsores, etc.).

Characteristics:
primary hydroactive dressing with adhesive edge. Polyurethane hydropolymer foam, semipermeable in several layers. The hydrophilic pillow swells upon contact with the wound, without colliquing. It does not adhere to the wound and therefore does not cause trauma when removed for replacement. Thanks to the high absorbent capacity thus obtained, the plaster can remain in contact with the wound for up to 7 days. The adhesive margin allows the dressing to be firmly fixed. The outer layer, permeable to gases but impermeable to water, protects the wound from germination and increases the absorbency. It is applied like ready-to-use patches.
The outer layer in polyurethane, resistant to water and semipermeable, equipped with an eudermic polyurethane gel adhesive, a double layer in non-woven fabric without elegant substances and a polyurethane foam pad, hydropolymer.

Warnings:
it is well tolerated even by patients with allergic diathesis. In a humid environment, crusts and necrotic tissues absorb water and soften, therefore, during the first days of treatment, the wound may appear enlarged. It is soft and adaptable, so it also adheres to exposed surfaces without the need for additional fixings and can also be worn by ambulatory patients without detaching.
