Spiral adhesive plate

Alterna ® two-piece has a mechanical coupling for greater safety
  • The bag is firmly fixed to the adhesive plate by means of a mechanical attachment system. An audible 'click' confirms the secure locking of the bag to the adhesive plate.
  • Before the pouch is closed, it can be rotated to the desired position, without having to remove it from the adhesive plate.
  • The pouch can be removed from the spiral adhesive plate, allowing the pouch to be replaced more frequently than the adhesive plate.

The two-piece Alterna ® devices are available with an adhesive plate, flat or convex, for standard and extended application. These devices can be combined with open, closed or urostomy bags, and with a range of special solutions such as night bags, MiniCaps and much more. The wide assortment consists of a range of adhesive plates in pre-cut or cut-out formats for maximum customization, accompanied by bags in a variety of formats available in transparent and opaque versions.

Spiral adhesive, for safety and skin protection

Alterna ® spiral adhesive is made in a combination of materials designed to offer safety and protection, and in a spiral structure for:
  • Safe adhesion to the skin
  • Moisture absorption from the skin - ensures skin protection and protects against irritation

Alterna ® adhesive offers additional protection against large spills. It is suitable for people with ileostomy or urostomy who have large leaks that can cause standard adhesives to peel too quickly.

Convexity, for difficult to manage ostomies

The Alterna ® Two-Piece Adhesive Plates are available in two different levels of convexity and are designed specifically for stomas that are difficult to manage (for example, a stoma that is flush, retracted or located in a skin fold). Apply pressure to the peristomal skin to reduce the risk of leakage by allowing the stoma to protrude.

Convex Light:

A flush or slightly retracted ostomy solution that offers additional protection by applying light and gentle pressure on the abdomen.

Convex:

A solution for retracted ostomies, deep skin folds and scars, providing additional protection through moderate to high pressure on the abdomen.

For more information on convexity, consult your stoma nurse.
