Indications:
gentian has the ability to stimulate the bitter gustatory receptor present on the tongue (there are four receptors, one for the salty taste, one for the bitter, one for the sweet and the last for the acrid taste), causing an increase in salivary secretion and of the gastric one (this indirect excitation of the gastric mucosa allows it to have no irritative character), consequently for this reason it has the property of stimulating the appetite and improving the general function of the digestive system. The plant is gladly used in elderly people as a digestive tonic. Gentian can be associated with preparations that contain iron and therefore used to fight anemia, by improving digestive function, it improves the assimilation of many nutritional elements, including iron and Vitamin B12 is therefore also recommended in the abundant rules.

Components:
the plant contains bitter principles (gentiopicrin, genziomarina, genziina, amurogentina), an alkaloid (gentianine), inulin, pectins, phenolic acids and other substances.
