Philosophy

The mission of the Urgo laboratories, a French family business, is to identify the needs of consumers and to develop innovative remedies thanks to its technological and scientific skills. Its ambition is supported by continuous innovation, with substantial investments in research and development, production and clinical tests to demonstrate the therapeutic action of its products.

Product specifications

Ready-to-use sterile gauze for the treatment of first and second degree domestic burns as well as superficial wounds.
Urgo sterile gauze consists of an elastic and comfortable support, as well as a thick compress that guarantees the absorption of exudates.
The gauze:

  • non-adhesive, ventilated, it consists of a polyester fabric impregnated with hydrocolloid particles (carboxymethylcellulose) and petroleum jelly.
  • in contact with the exudates of the wound, a lipid-colloidal gel is formed which creates favorable conditions for healing in a moist environment.
  • this gel disappears by rinsing when the dressing is replaced.

Its patented lipid-colloidal gauze:

  • Quickly relieves pain;
  • Promotes cicatrization;
  • Removes painlessly as it does not adhere to the wound.

How to use

In case of superficial second degree burns: first hold the wound under cold water for 15 minutes, in order to limit the extent of the burn.

Clean the wound with an alcohol-free antiseptic. Rinse with water and saline solution. In case of burns, never use colored antiseptics such as eosin.
Allow to dry carefully using a sterile compress.
Where possible, do not touch the blister, which acts as a protection against infection. If it gets a puncture, disinfect it. There is no need to remove dead skin if it does not peel off on its own.
Remove the protective tabs. Apply to the area to be treated.
The duration of treatment varies from 5 to 66 days, with the first dressing being replaced after 24 hours and then every 48 hours thereafter.
