Innovative and patented dressing, developed by Urgo Laboratories, made up of two exclusive technologies: the TLC-NOSF matrix and the poly-absorbent fibres.
Is composed by:
- A micro-adherent matrix of TLC-NOSF, formed by lipid-colloidal particles, polymers and an exclusive element; the NOSF (Nano-Oligosaccharide Factor) which reduces the healing time. Furthermore, the poly-absorbent fibers in polyacrylate guarantee the debridement of the wound (which is cleansed of slough, exudate and bacterial residues).
- A super absorbent layer.
- A vapor permeable water repellent outer film.

It reduces the healing time and cleanses the wound from slough, exudate and bacterial residues.
The TLC-NOSF matrix forms a gel when in contact with the lesion, and shortens healing time by inhibiting excess metalloproteases that cause degradation of the extracellular matrix. Furthermore, gelling creates a moist environment which promotes the action of key cells involved in the healing process (fibroblasts, keratinocytes and macrophages).
In contact with the wound, the poly-absorbent fibers of UrgoStart Plus gel. The dressing absorbs and traps slough, exudate and bacterial residues present in the wound bed for autolytic debridement. Furthermore, the poly-absorbent fibers make the dressing highly cohesive, allowing an atraumatic reduction, in a single piece and without pain for the patient.
The poly-absorbent fibers and the super absorbent layer of UrgoStart Plus guarantee a high absorption capacity and exudate management, preventing maceration. The dressing can be used under a compression bandage if prescribed. UrgoStart Plus has a highly conformable and non-occlusive water-repellent external support, which allows for correct adaptation to the shape of the lesion. It also acts as a barrier to exogenous bacteria, as well as helping to prevent fluid leakage. Its high vapor permeability properties allow the evaporation of excess exudate, preventing the risk of maceration. The dressing adapts to different body movements, ensuring patient comfort. Thanks to its transparency, it is possible to monitor the leakage of the liquid and therefore change the dressing only when necessary.
UrgoStart Plus has multiple properties:
1) Healing properties:
- Reduction of healing time combined with the cleansing of all the elements present in the lesion (slough, exudate, bacterial residues);

The efficacy of TLC-NOSF in reducing healing time has been demonstrated in double-blind randomized controlled trials and in an analysis of observational studies.
It is indicated for all stages of exuding wounds (from cleansing to complete healing), including chronic wounds (leg wounds, pressure wounds, diabetic foot wounds) and long-term acute wounds.

How to use
Wound preparation:
- Cleanse the lesion according to the local treatment protocol then rinse with physiological solution.
