Urinocol
Medical device CE 0123 class I, sterile disposable, ethylene oxide sterilization method. Urinocol is a latex-free and PVC-free urine collection bag for newborns and premature babies. The closed bag is particularly suitable for the simple collection of urine samples for subsequent laboratory analyses. The open bag allows the management of diuresis for several hours. Thanks to the double discharge fitting, it is possible to proceed with rapid urine sampling even during diuresis management. Available in male or female versions, with or without a dump valve. This device can be connected to the cone of a syringe, to carry out a urine sampling in optimal hygienic conditions, to avoid possible contamination. It can also be connected to an external collection bag equipped with a connecting cone. The bag is made of a sheet of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and is heat sealed on the edges, so as to guarantee its seal. The unloading device in plastic material allows the connection with the common collection devices or with a syringe for any samples. The hypoallergenic adhesive is totally latex-free and guarantees excellent adhesion to the skin while allowing atraumatic removal. It has high skin tolerability. We recommend replacement every 12 hours while the maximum recommended permanence time is 48 hours. If the bag is used for urine collection and for biochemical, cytological or bacterial investigations, leave the bag in situ for no more than 30 minutes in order to avoid possible contamination of the urine (false positives). How to use
Make sure that the size of the bag is suitable for the weight of the child.
Wash your hands thoroughly.
Lay the child on his back with legs apart.
Cleanse the skin with water and appropriate cleansers. Use antiseptic solutions only if necessary. The skin must be dry, not covered by creams or powders and must not show any irritation.
Detach and discard the central disk.
Gently and completely remove the liner that protects the adhesive.
Apply the bag around the genitals, massaging gently to obtain unacompleta adhesion.
For bags equipped with a discharge device: before applying, make sure that the discharge device is closed. The locking device was specially designed for:
- direct sampling with a syringe.
- Connection for all types of fittings.
To remove the pouch, lift one corner and gently peel away.
To prevent the collected urine from leaking, adhere the two edges of the adhesive and possibly reinforce with a plaster.
To correctly perform biochemical, cytological or bacteriological tests, avoid the permanence of the bag for more than 30 minutes, in order to avoid possible urine contamination (false positives). Use a new bag even if the unused bag is empty. Send the urine to the laboratory for analysis within 2 hours of collection. If this is not possible, the sample should be stored in a refrigerator for no more than 12 hours. Indicate the collection time on the bag.
Depending on the amount of urine produced, replace the bag when necessary: replace in case of poor adhesion or in the presence of defects.
