Maintaining optimal levels of hydration of the stratum corneum allows the skin to perform its protective function in the best possible way.

The water reserve contained in the stratum corneum gives the skin plasticity and elasticity.

The Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) is a blend of humectants and nutrients that helps maintain skin homeostasis. The right level of humidity that the Natural Moisturizing Factor gives to the skin reduces the intensity of damage caused by environmental stressors, promotes the firming of the tissues and the relaxation of wrinkles, improves skin tropism and plasticity. Body cream H 48, is a formulation that guarantees skin hydration activity for 48 hours.

Clinical tests have shown that the level of skin hydration provided by Body Cream H 48 develops gradually during the 48 hours following the application of the formulation. In this way the activity of the product favors the reduction of transepidermal water loss (TEWL), reinforcing the barrier action of the skin and its protective function.

TEST FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF THE SHORT-TERM (48 HOURS) MOISTURIZING EFFECTIVENESS OF BODY CREAM H 48

DESCRIPTION OF THE METHOD

Purpose of the test

Evaluation of the moisturizing efficacy (short-term test, 48 hours) of a cosmetic product applied in single dose on human skin. The efficacy of the product is evaluated by measuring the hydration, before and after the application of the product, using the Corneometer CM825.

The test was conducted on 10 adult volunteers with the following characteristics

• Absence of skin pathologies
• Absence of topical pharmacological treatments in place
• Negative history of atopy

Volunteers were also asked to

• Do not use other topical products in the treated area for the duration of the test.
• Do not use other products in the same control area in the three hours prior to treatment.

Instrumentation used and measurement principles

The Corneometer CM 825 instrument was used to assess the hydration status of the stratum corneum of the skin of the volunteers.

The Corneometer CM 825 is a low frequency 'capacitance' meter, sensitive to the relative dielectric constant (or permittivity) of the material placed in contact with the electrode surface. The stratum corneum of the epidermis represents a dielectric medium whose properties vary according to the water content. This measurement is based on the large difference in the dielectric constant of water (81) and that of other substances (<7).

ACTIVITY OF THE MAIN COMPONENTS OF BODY CREAM H48

• THEOBROMA GRANDIFLORUM: rich in fatty acids (Omega 6, Omega 9), it absorbs water up to 419% of its volume. Rich in phytosterols, it promotes tissue plasticity and guarantees optimal long-lasting skin hydration by promoting tissue repair processes.
• COPERNICIA CERIFERA WAX: obtained from the leaves of a palm native to Brazil. It has rheological properties that give viscosity and elasticity to the formulation, making it viscous and able to remain on the treated surfaces for a long time.
• UREA: natural component of the skin, it favors the reconstitution of the natural moisturizing factor (NMF) of the epidermis. Strengthens the barrier function of the skin.
• PRUNUS ARMENIACA KERNEL OIL: emollient and trophic properties that favor the maintenance of skin elasticity.
• ORYZA SATIVA BRAN OIL: rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids which, thanks to the presence of high unsaponifiable fractions, performs an effective emollient and restorative activity.

SUMMARY OF THE FUNCTIONS OF BODY CREMA H48

It stimulates the skin's ability to retain water, produces a calibrated action on the hydrolipidic film, strengthening the functionality of the hydrolipidic barrier.

It favors the relaxation of skin impoverished by aggressive treatments such as the prolonged use of cosmetics rich in preservatives and cortisone ointments.

It stimulates cellular functions, preventing alterations related to hyperoxidation (skin spots).

It strengthens the elasticity of the skin, it is useful during the period of pregnancy to favor the elasticity and firming of the tissues.

INDICATIONS

Prevention and treatment of premature skin aging, skin peeling, skin irritation after hair removal and shaving, dermatitis, superficial skin infections, indicated before and after laser interventions, stimulation of the biological functions of the skin, breast firming.

METHOD OF USE

Apply BODY CREMA H48 on the affected area and massage until completely absorbed. Repeat this two or more times a day.
