The vitamin balance for bone health

Vigoss is a food supplement based on Vitamin D3, useful for optimizing the absorption of calcium and phosphorus, as well as for the functioning of the immune system, it has proved to be valid for the improvement of post-fracture calcification and for the prevention of osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis is a systemic disease of the skeletal system and today represents a serious social problem. It is estimated that in Italy it affects about 5,000,000 people: 23% of women over 40 and 14% of men over 60 and these numbers are constantly growing.

Pharmacological treatments essentially have two objectives

• Reduce bone resorption, slowing bone loss and maintaining bone density
• Stimulate the formation of new bone by increasing bone mineral density.

Bisphosphonates are the drugs of choice, but the judgments on the results of treatments in this sense are conflicting.

Vitamin D3 has a fundamental role in fixing calcium, but not expressly at the bone level, in fact the latter is deposited in the soft tissues and arteries with consequent side effects, hence the need to associate Vitamin K2.

Vitamin K2 promotes osteocalcin which deposits calcium at the bone level and activates the MGP protein which, on the other hand, removes calcium from the moles and arteries.

Vitamin k2 is synthesized in the intestine starting from K1, contained in green leafy vegetables, but intestinal dysbiosis reduces and inhibits this transformation, for this reason it is essential to integrate "VIGOSS" which, in the right dosage, associates the Vitamins D3 and K2.
