Characteristics: Rooibos is also often referred to as red tea, even if in truth it has nothing to do with actual tea. Rooibos is a natural product without theine - caffeine -, grown in South Africa. It is obtained by fermenting the needle-shaped leaves of the Aspalathus linearis, a shrub approx. 1.5 m. Unlike black tea, it contains less tannin and being completely theine-free it can be consumed at all hours of the day.
