Enema whose purpose is to soften the stool, in order to promote its normal elimination by the intestine which, thanks to the peristaltic motor reaction, after being filled and dilated by water, introduced thanks to the Visi-Flow irrigator, contracts its complete emptying. In irrigation, the colostomate finds an alternative method to regain control of the intestinal function and to overcome the discomfort due to continuous faecal drainage. The fundamental objectives of this practice are:
- regulate the rhythm of the evacuations;
- educate the intestine and get it used to working at fixed and predictable hours.

Technical information
The irrigation kit, contained in a practical and discreet case, includes:
- a graduated bag to contain the water;
- a tube with regulator tap and flow display;
- an anatomic cone in hypoallergenic plastic material
- a brush for the maintenance of the sprinkler and for its cleaning.
The water containment bag is graduated every 500cc (from 0 to 2,000cc) with indelible blue ink. The overall capacity of the bag is 2,000 cc. In its upper part there are: A practical hole to hang the irrigation system on the wall; A door that can be closed under pressure for the introduction of water. The bag is completely transparent and is made with soft plastic films, flexible and impermeable to liquids and odors; all factors that guarantee its resistance and quality. The 158 cm long connection tube ensures total comfort and complete autonomy of movement for patients during the entire duration of the irrigation. Furthermore, thanks to the regulator and the flow display, the patient can constantly control and manage the entire irrigation process independently. The anatomical irrigation cone is made of soft hypoallergenic plastic material and is also available in single pack so that it can be replaced as soon as desired.

The large capacity of the bag makes the irrigator particularly versatile and adaptable to different needs (once filled through the porthole, no further water top-ups are necessary). The flow regulator present on the tube allows the practical and precise regulation of the quantity of water to be administered, with the possibility of interrupting the flow completely, if necessary. The flow indicator allows constant visual control of the effective flow of water. The cone, made of hypoallergenic soft plastic, eliminates any risk of injury to the stoma and adverse events. The toothbrush inside the kit allows the practical and accurate cleaning of all components.
