Protein Substitute

PKU express is a phenylalanine-free protein substitute that contains a blend of essential and non-essential amino acids, carbohydrates, minerals, trace elements and vitamins. PKU Express is available in four versions; flavor of orange, lemon, tropical and unflavored. The flavored versions contain sweeteners and sugars.

Indication

PKU express is indicated in the dietary treatment of children from 8 years of age and adults diagnosed with phenylketonuria or hyperphenylalaninemia.

The use of Vitaflo PKU Express 15 Limon

The amount of product and the dilution should be determined by the doctor or dietician based on the age, weight and clinical situation of the patient.

-25 g (1 sachet) of PKU express provides 18.2 g of amino acids = 15 g of protein equivalent.
- A controlled amount of natural proteins must be added to meet the needs of phenylalanine essential for growth and development. 50mg phenylalanine exchanges are generally used, adjusting the total number of daily exchanges depending on plasma phenylalanine levels.
-PKU express should be administered in multiple doses throughout the day, preferably together with natural protein.
-To meet caloric needs, foods rich in carbohydrates and lipids, but low in protein, must be used.

PREPARATION
Empty the contents of the bag into a glass with a lid. Add a bag of sugar if necessary. Add cold water to the center of the glass (about 80ml). Close the lid and shake well. Drink immediately.
