It contains a highly purified specific fraction of hyaluronic acid sodium salt produced by bacterial fermentation and is therefore free of animal proteins. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally biocompatible polysaccharide with viscoelastic and hygroscopic properties. In the eye, hyaluronic acid is found in the vitreous body, the lacrimal gland, the corneal epithelium, the conjunctiva and human lacrimal fluid. Hyaluronic acid has mucoadhesive properties and the ability to trap water; it is also known to influence the distribution of water in the corneal stroma. This, together with the protective properties of hyaluronic acid, leads to an increase in the pre-corneal resistance time and the tear film breaking time and therefore guarantees a longer lasting lubrication of the corneal surface. Hyaluronic acid is currently used in contact lens products to increase the wettability and comfort of the contact lenses themselves. Xailin HA contains a retractable preservative that transforms into water and oxygen upon contact with the eye, minimizing the irritation that can be caused by traditional preservatives, while still ensuring the convenience of a multidose form. How to use

The usual dosage is one drop to be applied 2 to 4 times a day as needed or as directed by your eye doctor. The dosage is the same for children as well. Before opening a new vial of eye drops, check that the safety ring on the bottle cap is intact.

• Turn the cap counterclockwise to break the seal.
• Wash and dry your hands well before use.
• Remove the cap.
• Tilt your head back and look up.
• Gently pull down the lower lid of the eye so that a small pocket is provided between the lid and the eye.
• Hold the bottle between your thumb and middle finger and apply gentle pressure to the base of the bottle with your index finger to deliver a drop of the eye drops into the conjunctival fornix.
• Blink a couple of times.
• If the eye has not been centered, instill another drop.
• Gently wipe off any excess eye drops around the eyelid with gauze.
• Put the cap back on the container trying not to touch the applicator tip.
• Leave at least 30 minutes between each administration of other ophthalmic drugs.

Precautions and Warnings

Do not use if the safety ring on the bottle cap is not intact. Do not use in case of allergy to the product. Do not touch the tip of the bottle with your eye or any other surface. Do not share Xailin HA with other people. May cause slight blurring of vision after application, wait for clear vision before driving or operating machinery. Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package or on the bottle. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. For external ophthalmic use only do not ingest. Consult your doctor, pharmacist before using the product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
