It is widely used as a flavoring in many food and beverages. The "bergamot liqueur" is the basis of a bergamot revaluation campaign in progress in Calabria in recent years, in order to revive the fortunes of this splendid but little-valued Italian region. Among other things, it is the basic ingredient responsible for the aroma of the well-known “Earl Gray” tea blend.
