Tea Tree

Tea Tree: Professional very pure essential oil ...

Data sheet
• Vulgar name: Tea tree oil
• Botanical name: Melaleuca alternifolia
• Family: Santalaceae
• Synonyms and foreign names: Tea tree oil, toothbrush plant, tea tree, melasol.

Main constituents:
Terpinen-4-ol, alpha and gamma-terpinene, 1,8-cineol, thymene, terpinolene, terpineol, alpha and beta-pinene

Predominance:
In the light of the previous description, which highlights the great strength and determination of the action of the tea tree, it is easy to compare its action to the masculine yang.

Note:
The tea tree is clearly perceived at the level of the head.

• Planet governor: The reason why this plant has been associated with Jupiter rather than Mars, a planet to which it would be more superficially approachable, derives from the fact that the combat and protection action offered by its essence is decidedly more mature and lasting, so much so as to often guarantee resolution of problems over time. While Mars, the god of war, instinctively fights, Jupiter guarantees paternal protection.

Reference chakra:
Strong, with a decisive practical effect on the physical body and its structure, tea tree stimulates, with preference, the 1st chakra.

Physical aspect:
The tea tree is a small shrub, with needle-like leaves similar to the cypress, with yellow or reddish-yellow sessile flower heads.

Provenance:
The tea tree originates from Australia, precisely from New Wales. In fact, this plant continues to be present only in this particular area of the earth, even if different varieties are grown elsewhere.

Parts used:
Leaves.

Extraction methods:
Tea tree essential oil is extracted by steam distillation from fresh, cut and crushed leaves.

Characteristics:
Tea tree essential oil is a clear, colorless or greenish-yellow liquid with a fresh, intense and camphoraceous smell.

Storage:
It is recommended to keep it in tightly closed bottles of dark glass, possibly red, to be kept in a cool place, away from light.

Emotional stimulation capacity:
This amazing and increasingly popular essential oil condenses most of its effect on a physical level. This does not take away the possibility of pointing out some of the main properties of psychic action which are based on the character and culture of the plant itself. The tea tree teaches us to fight and resist the harshness of everyday life, making us immune from attacks of various kinds. A constant and daily use of this essence strengthens and invigorates making us real fighters.

Other Uses:
Tea tree essential oil is used by the cosmetic industry in specialty herbal products such as deodorants and natural disinfectant cleaners. It is also used in the preparation of toothpastes, mouthwashes and liquids for gargling. Its use in aftershave preparations is increasingly widespread. It is discreetly used in technical products to disinfect rooms. In perfumery it is used in spicy colonies and after shave.

Precautions and contraindications for use:
Tea tree essential oil is non-irritating and non-toxic. In sensitive individuals it can give rise to sensitization. However, a diluted use is recommended.

Historical-cultural notes:
The name of the tea tree seems to derive from the fact that, when Captain Cook landed with his men on the Australian coast, he quenched his thirst with the refreshing infusion of the leaves of this plant. It then became the tea tree. All the knowledge we have of this oil today comes from the Australian Aboriginal tradition. The aborigines first and the settlers of those lands then, used this plant as a first aid remedy in wounds and skin lesions. The tea tree does not boast a traditional presence in popular herbal medicine, as a plant very distant from our western world and little known. Nowadays it is by right one of the most important essences with an anti-infective action in the aromatherapy panorama. Even on the official medical front, scientific studies are beginning to spread aimed at refuting its two main actions: its great ability to counteract all three varieties of microorganisms responsible for pathologies, namely viruses, bacteria and fungi, and its ability to increase the individual reaction to the infectious insult as an immunostimulant. The tea tree is considered to be the propolis of the year 2000, as the same expectations are being poured into it from many quarters regarding the possibility of finally being able to have a natural antibiotic without side effects. The negative fame that the world of classic antibiotics has earned up to now is very beneficial to this aspect. Finally, it should not be forgotten that, unlike propolis, tea tree can be taken as an inhaled essence, with an evident tropism for the mucous membranes and the respiratory tract.
